The 2012 Melbourne Chinese Moon Festival

Organised by the Melbourne Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce, the Melbourne Chinese Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, now in its 22nd year, is an annual multicultural celebration for all ages and has become one of the most anticipated events in Victoria.
The Festival showcases Asian culture, traditions and cuisines, as well as encouraging communities from all across Melbourne to join us in celebrating the Chinese Mid-Autumn Moon Festival, traditionally a time for family and friends to gather and admire the mid-autumn harvest moon. It is also promotes community harmony, strengthening the understanding of Asian and Australian cultures.
With over 50 marquees, the event will include various international cuisines, arts and crafts, as well as a full entertainment program – including the Opening Ceremony, lion dancing, live performances, games, competitions and an appearance from SBS’ Pop Asia team.
A children’s lantern-decorating competition will also be held on the day at the AXF Group marquee, which will be located on Market St.
The event is proudly supported by the Whitehorse City Council, Office of Multicultural Affairs & Citizenship, AXF Group, Bank of Melbourne, Centro Box Hill and Lycamobile.
